Our Grade 2 Fab Friday presentation was truly fabulous! This was an occasion for the students to share their learning about heroes and role models. They successfully demonstrated their knowledge about a variety of heroes around the world and in their lives. Students’ reflection on their learning provided the script for the performance. Interspersed with songs, slide shows, quizzes to the audience and stories read aloud, the second graders were able to model their acquired research and presentation skills. Students communicated the genuine connections they had made between heroes and their influence on the choices they make. The audience took active participation and added to the overall interactive experience. Thank you to all parents who were able to come and support learning at HIS. Central Idea: People can influence the choices we make.

Kalpana Parajuli
Hello, I’ve been in and out of Harare for the past two years, having moved here from Rome, Italy. With my husband who works for the UN, we have moved to nine different postings with our three children. I’ve taught Pre-K through 2nd at AISD (Dhaka), Jakarta International School, Cairo American College, International School of Yangon, and Ambrit International (Rome) and am delighted to be in 2nd Grade at this beautiful campus! I am from Nepal, but I was born in Rome, and went to school in Nepal, Italy and England. Having initially graduated in International Relations, I decided to go into teaching and have a M.Ed. and Teaching Certification from the College of New Jersey, US. Our children all graduated from International schools: one is an Undergraduate in Edinburgh, a Postgraduate at UCLA, and one who is working in England. I’m looking forward to a great year with your children, learning and discovering together. I’m honoured to be a part of their learning journey together with you, and look forward to collaborating in creating a great environment for the children. Please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions or queries. (Kalpana Parajuli 2B) My name is Dasiree Mukotekwa. I just turned 28 on the 2nd of August.
